Illegal Immigration
The Problem: Our Federal Government is delinquent in its constitutional obligation to secure our borders. Despite the President's claim to be focused on the security of our nation, he ignores our biggest vulnerability.
The Objective: Where the Federal Government has failed, the states must do the Federal Government's job. We must make Idaho the most unfriendly State to illegal immigrants, by requiring detained illegal immigrants to pay their own way back to their own country. A viable plan needs to be self funding, rather than using tax payers' dollars. Consider the following solution.
A Solution :
- It must be understood that an illegal immigrant does not have the protection of rights granted by the laws of our country.
- It must be understood that an illegal immigrant owes a debt to the people of our country for their detainment and deportation.
- It is proposed that illegals, upon detainment, are granted privileges (considered "rights" by many of our citizens) based only upon their willingness to repay their debts to our society. Those who refuse to earn their way home are given only the basics for sustaining life.
- Detained illegals will be placed in a prison work camp, not subject to the civil rights granted to U.S. citizens, i.e.; the 40 hour/5 day work week, recognized holidays, and the standard of living provided to our citizens in our prisons.
- A work week of 12 hours/7days would be typical (84 hrs/wk X $5/hr = $420/week)
- Poor living conditions of the detained illegals should be a motivation for them to earn their release. Conditions should be such that, even being in their home country would be more desirable.
- Earnings by these illegals will not be considered a wage, and is not subject to additional taxation (state or federal). Illegals earn no personal income, earnings go to the state to pay for their deportation. Their earnings first go to pay for their detainment, the surplus goes into a fund to accumulate the cost of deportation.
- Once a detained illegal has contributed enough to pay for their deportation (reported to be about $1,000), they are set free in their home country.
- This program will likely be needed only short-term, as the word gets out to illegals to avoid being caught in Idaho. In a short amount of time, illegals will be extremely rare in Idaho.
- Other states, in response to the flood of illegals fleeing Idaho, will likely follow suit.
