Can this nation survive without God?


Welcome to America, where we enjoy the freedom of speech, (as long as it is not Religious speech).

The ACLU (American Criminal Liberals Union?) will avidly defend your right to anti-religious speech, but prosecute you for any public references to God or Godly standards.  They and other organizations with similar goals have been successful in removing prayer and bible study from our schools.  They have even removed the teaching of moral values.  They have removed The 10 Commandments from many public places, for fear that someone might read them, and obey them!  They are pushing to remove “In God We Trust” from our currency and “under God” from The Pledge of Allegiance.  They have changed our school curriculum to ignore the strong religious background our country was founded upon.  In Canada and some European countries, they have begun prosecuting ministers who teach that, according to the Bible, homosexuality is a sin, even if it is only taught in their own churches!

“So, what’s the big deal?  You can believe any way you wish, as long as you don’t share it publicly.”

The "big deal" is this; removing God from our country undermines our very form of Government, and destroys the foundation of our freedom!

“Yeah right.  Like burning hailstones are going to destroy us all if we don’t go to church?”

No, but you may have a point there.  Our Constitutional Republic was formed to limit Government in a way that no Democracy ever had.  In a Democracy, the only thing to limit Government is the voice of the people.  Our Constitutional Republic takes it one step further.  Our three founding documents; The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and the Bill of Rights were inspired by the Bible.  They restrain Government not only to the will of the people, but to the laws of God. 

As Founding Father Noah Webster stated:  “Our citizens should early understand that the genuine source of correct republican principles is the Bible, particularly the New Testament, or the Christian religion.”

Why is this so important?  Because the laws of God are never changing!  In God’s law, murder is always wrong.  In a pure democracy, if the voice of the people declare murder to be legal, then it is legal.

“Oh sure, like that would ever happen!”

Actually, it has happened many times throughout history.  Perhaps the most notable was about 2000 years ago, when a crowd was asked what should be done with a man in whom was found no fault.  CRUCIFY HIM!  Jesus was crucified to appease the voice of the people!  Simply establishing a government that listens to the people doesn’t secure freedom and good government.

The real difference is found in what constrains government.  In a Democracy, it is the will of the people.  In our Constitutional Republic, it is the will of God!

If we can remove God from the equation, we remove the true limits to Government. 

As stated in The Declaration of Independence,

   “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

These rights were further defined in The Bill of Rights.  This identifies God as being the source of our rights.  If this is true, our Government has no authority to infringe upon these rights.  This is why most of the rights secured by the Bill of Rights are under attack.  We have forgotten our foundation. 

Either we worship an all powerful God or we must bow down to an all powerful government! 

It is only by respecting a higher power that we can effectively limit government.  

Therefore, attempts to remove God from our history and our daily speech are an attack on our freedom and our form of government, and should be considered treason.
