Will you support LIBERTY in 2008?
The coming Presidential Election is probably the most clear-cut decision since the election of George Washington. There are really only two types of candidates running, and no, I am not referring to Democrat and Republican.
There are:
- those who promote Tyranny and
- those who defend Liberty.
However, these words are misused so frequently by politicians and the media, we need to stop and define them. Of course, every candidate claims to be a defender of Liberty.
Liberty:
As Ronald Reagan so clearly stated:
“…man is not free unless government is limited. There’s a clear cause and effect here that is as neat and predictable as a law of physics: As government expands, liberty contracts.”
Our Constitution was established to ensure that our Federal Government would remain very limited, and not encroach upon our Liberty. This was done by specifically listing every power the Federal Government has (enumerated powers), then barring it from taking any other powers by saying “The powers not delegated to the United States (Federal Government) by the Constitution … are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” (10th Amendment)
As the Federal Government expands and takes new power, it must take this power from the States and the People.
Tyranny:
As former under-Secretary of State J. Reuben Clark forewarned:
“The principle of allegiance to the Constitution is basic to our freedom … when you see government invading any of these realms of freedom which we have under our Constitution, you will know that they are putting shackles on your liberty, and that tyranny is creeping upon you …no matter what the reason and excuse therefore may be.”
When our officials in Washington steal power not specifically delegated to them in the Constitution, this is USURPATION. Historically, USURPATION ALWAYS LEADS TO TYRANNY.
Such tyranny leads to heavy taxation, rampant inflation (which robs your savings & investments), and a loss of the freedoms our country was founded upon. Freedoms like the right to life, property ownership, privacy, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc.
By those definitions, candidates who ignore the limits of power placed upon them by the Constitution are laying the foundations of TYRANNY, whether ignorantly or intentionally.
Those who strictly observe their oath of office to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution” are promoting LIBERTY.
Who promotes Tyranny and who promotes Liberty?
To answer this, we will investigate three areas:
- The Candidate’s past political history.
- Their Campaign Platform.
- Their political affiliation.
We will only compare the “front-runners” from both major parties. These include:
1. PAST HISTORY
For those who have been recent members of Congress, we need only look to their voting records to see if they have followed their oaths of office. If they have voted for Legislation, which they had not the Constitutional authority to enact, they are in violation of their oaths of office for USURPING POWER!
The records of the Candidates from Congress are:
Barack Obama 0% Constitutional*
(*0% means EVERY VOTE that could violate the Constitution, did!)
John Edwards 10% Constitutional
Hillary Clinton 10% Constitutional
John McCain 43% Constitutional
Ron Paul 100% Constitutional!

What about Giuliani, Romney, and Huckabee?
Both Giuliani and Romney have supported an “infringement of the right to bear arms” in the form of strict gun control laws. This directly violates the 2 nd Amendment.
In celebration of his “heroics” on 9/11, Rudy Giuliani was Knighted by the Queen of England. Giuliani’s acceptance of this “Title of Nobility” directly violates Article 1, Section 9, Clause 8, which states “no Person holding any Office of Profit … shall, without Consent of Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.” This creates conflicting loyalties and makes him ineligible to run for office. (More)
When the Massachusetts Supreme Court usurped the power of the Legislature to create a new law legalizing gay marriage, Governor Mitt Romney ignored his Constitutional obligation of checks and balances to stop usurpation of other branches of Government. Rather he aided in violating the Massachusetts State Constitution, which forbade gay marriage.
Mitt Romney also ignored the Constitutional limits of power placed on the Governor by implementing his “healthcare reform” plan, which forces businesses to provide health insurance to employees. Whether or not this was a good plan, he had no power to enact it.
Mike Huckabee strongly supports “benefits for illegal aliens” and calls those who oppose subsidies and voting rights for illegal aliens “racists and bigots”. Contrary to this view, Article 4, Section 2, Clause 1 of the Constitution states “The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States”. No rights or privileges are granted in the Constitution to non-citizens.
2. CAMPAIGN PLATFORMS
Campaign platforms which advocate the use of governmental force to solve the “Healthcare Crisis” have no constitutional authority. Therefore, Hillary Clinton’s promise of “HillaryCare” or Mitt Romney’s “RomneyCare” would be a usurpation of power, directly in violation of the Constitution.
Candidates who support the invasion of Iran, without Congressional approval are in direct violation of Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 “The Congress shall have Power … To declare War”. This includes (by their own admission); Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, John McCain, Mike Huckabee, and Mitt Romney. (more about Constitutional War)
Candidates who support the phony* war against Iraq are also in violation of Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11. Congress did propose a war declaration, but it was quickly voted down. Since Congress never declared this war, support for it is in violation of the Constitution. This includes: Rudy Giuliani, Fred Thompson, John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney. It also includes (on and off) Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
* The Iraq war is blatantly phony. Leaving our borders wide open while fighting a war “to protect America” is the proof. Stationing our troops in over 130 foreign nations leaves us more vulnerable at home. Only those unfamiliar with the meaning of “Democracy” fall for the campaign to “spread Democracy” by force if necessary. Those who understand the evils of Democracy view this effort as a modern Spanish Inquisition.
(Hint: We are NOT a Democracy)
Perhaps this is why over 70% of our Nation want us out of Iraq.
3. POLITICAL AFFILIATIONS
The Congressional Oath of Office states “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic”.
What would be an enemy to the Constitution? Would Al Qaeda qualify? No. The only threat they pose to our Constitution is the extent to which they can convince us to violate it in fighting them.
Then what does it mean by “enemies to the Constitution”? Certainly it would be individuals who themselves violate the Constitution by their own actions (elected officials) and organizations who promote it’s undermining, subjection, or repeal.
One such organization, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), now openly advocates dissolving our national sovereignty and subjecting our nation to a higher government of a North American Union. To implement this plan requires the repeal of our US Constitution. It directly contradicts the "Supremacy Clause" (Art.6, Cl. 2) and creates a International Court higher than the Supreme Court, violating Article 3 Section 1. With a repeal of the Constitution, our inalienable rights guaranteed by it would certainly be lost.
Nay-Sayers put their heads in the sand and claim this is all just “Conspiracy Theories”. But the globalist plans are now stated so publicly, only the most uninformed and mislead (by the media) still cling to this view. From the mouths of CFR members we hear such statements as:
“The main purpose of the Council on Foreign Relations is promoting the disarmament of U.S. sovereignty and national independence and submergence into an all-powerful, one world government”. - Admiral Chester Ward, Former CFR member
“[Nations] must be prepared to cede some sovereignty to world bodies if the international system is to function.” - Richard N. Haass, CFR President
The CFR claims to be “ the most powerful agent of United States foreign policy outside the State Department.” (source: www.cfr.org)
Membership or close affiliation with this un-elected powerful group, who is clearly working against the best interests of our Nation, would be considered by our Founding Fathers to be treason:
According to the US Constitution: “Treason against the United States, shall consist … in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.” (Art. 3, Sec. 3)
CFR members include:
Fred Thomson (evidence)
John McCain (evidence)
Hillary Clinton (evidence)
CFR affiliates include:
Rudy Giuliani (evidence)
Mitt Romney (evidence)
Barack Obama (evidence)
John Edwards (evidence)
Mike Huckabee (evidence)
Surrendering our national sovereignty in favor of a North American Union will leave us with no guarantee of protection for our inalienable rights, nor can we expect any specific limit to the power of such a government. If you support these plans, choose between the above listed CFR members and affiliates based upon their petty differences.
However, if you support Liberty, the Constitution and National Sovereignty, the choice couldn’t be clearer.
Only RON PAUL
will defend the Liberty, Constitution and Sovereignty of this Nation.
