To their credit, Ron Paul took (a distant) second place, apparently showing some Mormons do put their allegiance to the Constitution first, as taught by Pres. J. Reuben Clark, Jr:
"Our political allegiance shall not run to individuals, no matter how great or how small they may be ... our allegiance and the only allegiance we owe as citizens of the United States, runs to our inspired Constitution which God himself set up."
New!!!"Romney's Connection to the CFR" (aka. "Romney's recipe for a crash of the US Dollar!") - Romney advocates US funded socialist programs for other Nations!

New!!! Mitt Romney can't seem to get HIS OWN STORY straight! (More ...)
- Can someone who supports Mitt explain what is going on here?

Was this a calculated, "sacrifice anything" effort to pull ahead in this close Presidential race?
Perhaps he was just blind-sided by the question (very uncharacteristic for him).
Or maybe, just maybe, he actually believes what he said! (if so, why is he a Mormon?)
One of our LDS readers reports that Church Leaders, in the last General Conference of the Mormon (LDS) Church, spoke condemningly of those who are unwilling to stand up for their faith:
Required is the courage to hold fast to our standards despite the derision of the world. Said President J. Reuben Clark Jr. for many years a member of the First Presidency: "Not unknown are cases where [those] of presumed faith ... have felt that, since by affirming their full faith they might call down upon themselves the ridicule of their unbelieving colleagues, they must either modify or explain away their faith or destructively dilute it, or even pretend to cast it away. Such are hypocrites."
-Pres. Thomas S. Monson, Ensign, Nov. 2007, p. 119
Whatever his reasoning,
Romney clearly avoided defending his faith, "destructively diluting it".
Mitt Romney claims that as Governor, he fought against the advance of Gay Marriage in Massachusetts.
However, he stood idly by while the Massachusetts Supreme Court legislated Gay Marriage (remember, they are not Legislators!).
If he truly wanted to stop the legalization of Gay Marriage, all he had to do was exercise his "checks and balances" power to over-ride this illegal mandate of the Supreme Court.
It was his Constitutional duty to overrule their usurpation of power.
As Governor of Massachusetts, he ignored his Constitutional Duty, and allowed Gay Marriage into Massachusetts
Socially liberal Log Cabin Republicans
support Romney based on his liberal record.
The Log Cabin Republicans are a pro-abortion, pro-gay rights Republican group.
Keep in mind, this is why they SUPPORT Romney.
In Defense of Mitt Romney
(Why he should NOT be viewed as “The Mormon Candidate”)
Perhaps the greatest challenge facing presidential candidate Mitt Romney is the resistance of voting for a “Mormon Candidate”.
Especially among much of the conservative Christian camp, we hear concerns voiced that, if elected, he would take his orders directly from Salt Lake City
"Mitt Romney the Chameleon" - exposes his views on the Gay Agenda!
Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney wrote a friendly letter to the pro-homosexuality Log Cabin Republicans on Oct 6, 1994 to ask for their endorsement in his election effort.
He expressed a common agenda, such as: "we seek to establish full equality for America’s gay and lesbian citizens ... For some voters it might be enough for me to simply match my opponent’s record [ultra-liberal Senator Ted Kennedy] in this area. But I believe we can and must do better. If we are to achieve the goals we share, we must make equality for gays and lesbians a mainstream concern. My opponent cannot do this. I can and will."

"Rising to a New Generation of Global Challenges" by Mitt Romney was the feature article in the July/August edition of the CFR "Foreign Affairs" Magazine. The very act of aligning himself with such a controversial organization ...

How do his Judicial appointments while Governor of Massachusetts reflect on his "Conservative Claims"? During this time, he made 36 judicial appointments, of which 23 were Democrats, or Democrat contributors. That's 64% with a liberal bias!
Is he a Candidate who has made a complete reversal in many political views, or just another Politician who will say anything to get elected?
