GOP Debate #1 (Reagan Library, Simi Valley, Calif., May 3, 2007)

Ron Paul soars from unknown to frontrunner – leads the pack by a large margin!

Texas Congressman Ron Paul dominates online polls!

Poll #1

Prior to the debate, MSNBC.com ran the following general opinion poll:

With 73,180 Total Votes.

After the debate, the public opinion of the candidates changed significantly, as follows:

With 91,047 Total Votes. (Source - go here to vote!)

This ranked the candidates as follows:

    Pre-debate Opinion Ranking

    1. Rudy Giuliani
    2. John McCain
    3. Mitt Romney
    4. Mike Huckabee
    5. Tommy Thompson
    6. Tom Tancredo
    7. Sam Brownback
    8. Ron Paul
    9. Duncan Hunter
    10. Jim Gilmore

    Post- Debate Opinion Ranking

    1. Ron Paul
    2. Mitt Romney
    3. Rudy Giuliani
    4. John McCain
    5. Mike Huckabee
    6. Tommy Thompson
    7. Tom Tancredo
    8. Sam Brownback
    9. Duncan Hunter
    10. Jim Gilmore

Although Ron Paul's ratings SOARED from eighth to first, while Mitt Romney's only went from third to second, most media sources are declaring Mitt Romney the winner of the debate! Do I detect a little bias here?

Poll #2

MSNBC.com also ran the following 6 category poll. Note how Ron Paul towers over all others!

Note how in all four of the "favorable" questions, Ron Paul has more than twice the votes of the nearest competitor! (Source - go here to vote!)

Poll #3

The ABC News online poll is even more astounding!

At first, Ron Paul was the only candidate of the 10 Republicans who were in the debate to be excluded from the poll! After a huge public outcry, ABC added his name. The results are below:

(Source - go here to vote!)

Yet again, Ron Paul came out CLEARLY on top!

Poll #4

Capital News, an arm of CSPAN, had Paul leading his nearest rival Mitt Romney by 60% shortly before voting closed. Rudy Giuliani garnered just 6% of the vote. See below:

However, mainstream media sources still proclaim Romney as the winner!

Yahoo! News was censoring Ron Paul by not including him in the list of candidates on their 2008 presidential coverage page, only recently adding him after significant public outrage (but not here), despite the fact that he is wildly popular and has trounced every other Republican candidate in every online poll.

Simply put, Ron Paul trounced rivals in all polls but is deliberately pushed to margins by terrified corporate media!
