Mark Snodgrass (60% - Republican Party)

vs.

Rex Kerr (58% - Libertarian Party)

By the numbers, this is another toss-up. My gut feeling is to vote for the Libertarian, just on anti-RINO principle.

Where they differ ...

Mark Snodgrass

Liberal on:

Supports requiring the registration of homeschooled students.

Opposed requiring parental permission for student involvement in school sanctioned clubs. (ie. gay and lesbian clubs)

Opposed education tax credits to expand parental choice in education.

Opposed voter approval for all new taxes and tax rate increases.

Opposed "pledge not to raise taxes, fees or rates".

Supports "sexual orientation" language in hate crimes legislation.

Undecided on:

The removal of "no-fault" divorce from Idaho code.

Removing the cap on charter school expansion.

Rex Kerr

Liberal on:

Opposed the removal of "no-fault" divorce from Idaho code.

Supports physician assisted suicide.

Opposes teaching the Bible as literature and history in public schools.

Supports casino gambling on Indian lands.

Undecided on:

Women to receive an ultrasound picture of her unborn baby before an abortion.

Embryonic stem cell research in Idaho.

The posting of the Ten Commandments on public property.

Limit property tax to previous year's amount, plus inflation and improvements.

Tie school property tax to student enrollment rather than property values.

Allow teaching in public schools that man is a created being, not an evolved being.

Allow teaching in public schools that Ten Cammandments is the foundation of western law.

Our View: Vote for Rex Kerr. If you read the topics they were liberal on, Rex shows his Libertarian view of less government intervention on personal freedom issues, while Mark Snodgrass sounds very in favor of "bigger government". This will send a message to the Republican Party that they need to field a more conservative candidate.
