Tom Luna(92% - Republican Party)
vs.
Jana Jones (0% - Democrat Party)
Our Pick: Vote for Tom Luna for traditional family values and Charter School competition in our public school system!
I find it interesting how virtually all the school teachers I know, who are generally conservative, have Jana Jones signs in their front yard.
What is it about Tom Luna that they don't like?
Perhaps it is because he is a strong advocate for Charter Schools, which introduce competition to the public schools, and undermines the power of the Idaho Education Association (teachers union). Funny, Charter Schools out-perform our public schools on less dollars per student! Are we interested in educating the children, or protecting our powerful union?
As a prominent NEA (National Teachers Union) leader stated, "When the children start paying [union] dues, that's when we'll be interested in what is best for the children!"
Perhaps they oppose Luna because he supports the traditional family by supporting the Marriage Amendment.
Jana Jones has publicly declared her support for gay marriage! Is this who we want in charge of the entire K-12 school system? We need only look to Massachusetts to see the danger here. One parent there who protested the homosexual indoctrination of his kindergartner was jailed and forbidden to enter school grounds for a year. That's not a scare tactic; that's a plain fact.

SUPERINTENDENT CANDIDATES DIFFER ON PARENTAL CHOICE, MARRIAGE AMENDMENT
Tom Luna and Jana Jones are squaring off for the position of Superintendent of Public Instruction and oversight of Idaho's entire K-12 public education system and its quarter million students. They met on Idaho Public Television for debate this week, and at least two stark contrasts emerged during the debate.
The two candidates differ markedly on Idaho's marriage amendment. Luna believes it is necessary, to strengthen families and protect marriage from the kind of judicial activism we saw on display Wednesday in New Jersey. Jones is vigorously opposed to the amendment.
In Massachusetts, where gay marriage has been legalized, students are now subject to forced indoctrination into acceptance of homosexual behavior beginning in kindergarten. It ought to be of great concern to Idaho parents to imagine the K-12 system in the hands of someone who embraces the homosexual agenda.
Parental choice is another issue that separates these two candidates. Luna believes, for instance, that parents of limited English-proficient children should have the choice of putting them in a charter school that specializes in English acquisition. But Jones is opposed to giving parents that option, even if it's one they would prefer, calling it "segregation."
According to the Associated Press, she said, "We learned a long time ago that segregating kids based on . . . limited English proficiency, even if the parents may want to choose or not to choose to go there, that that is not in the best interest of children."
Said Luna in response, "That's wrong. That puts the bureaucracy and the bureaucrat at a higher level in deciding what's best for a child than it does the parent, and we can never have a successful public education system that meets the needs of every child as long as we have an attitude that the bureaucracy knows what's best."

With all the student/teacher sex scandals going on, consider the following:
Studies show that approximately 1/3 of all child sex abuse cases are perpetrated by Homosexual males. Gay rights advocates might quickly point out that straight men are obviously twice as likely to be the problem; therefore, the homosexual lifestyle must be superior!
But look deeper. Homosexual males make up about 3% of the total male population. That means 33% of the crimes are committed by only 3% of the men, while 67% of the crimes are committed by the other 97% of the population.
To make this a little clearer, this means children left in the care of gay men are 1,600% more likely to be sexually abused, than children left with in the care of straight males. ((.33/.03)/(.67/.97))=16=1,600%
Who would you leave your kids with???
