Our concern: Kathie Garrett is proud of her support for the GARVEE Bond effort. As a conservative, I wouldn't be. While I don't dispute the need for improving our highways throughout the state, there is a problem. The plan was to place bonds against future expected tax revenues from Federal gas tax monies, a revenue source which is expected to be going down in the future!
That is like buying a home based on your current income, knowing you'll be getting a pay reduction in the near future!
Put simply, the GARVEE plan is not fiscally responsible!
