Tony Edmondson is a former County Commissioner, who chose to resign rather than face the embarrassment of a recall.
He went public with his homosexual lifestyle in January of this year, when he testified before the Idaho House of Representatives against the Marriage Amendment (and for Gay Marriage). He has been in a gay relationship for the last 35 years, and we can count on him to help advance the anti-family Gay Agenda.
In a voter guide published by vote-smart.org, Edmondson reveals he believes abortions should always be legal, with no restrictions, although he would consider parental notification legislation.
On taxation, Edmondson believes taxes should be raised in 6 out of 12 categories referenced, while the others should be maintained at their current levels, and none decreased.
Recently, in a blatant attempt to deceive voters, Mr. Edmondson sent out postcards to many voters in district 9, portraying Monty Pearce as wanting to "sell off Idaho's public lands".
This is simply a gross misrepresentation.
Monty Pearce voted no on the (powerless) memorial statement to the federal government, and in it's place, proposed a measure to place Idaho public lands in Idaho's control, not the Federal Government's!
Constitutionally, Mr Pearce's position is right on!
The Federal Government has no constitutional authority to own and manage Idaho's public lands. Under Federal control the land is poorly managed, allowing more prevalent wildfires, and charging access fees to the public who want to visit! |
Monty Pearce has a strong, conservative, family oriented foundation, and the wisdom to see through complex issues. In strong contrast to his opponent, Senator Pearce helped sponsor the Marriage Amendment. He was part of the committee for measure 555, to restrict Eminent Domain abuse in Idaho.
As another example, he opposed GARVEE Bonds. While he is not against the improving of Idaho's highways, the plan was to place bonds against future expected tax revenues from Federal gas tax monies, a revenue source which is expected to be going down in the future!
That is like buying a home based on your current income, knowing you'll be getting a pay reduction in the near future!
Put simply, the GARVEE plan is not fiscally responsible! Senator Pearce was instrumental in stopping it.
He has an A+ rating with the National Rifle Association.
He has a 100% voting record with the Farm Bureau.
